A good astrologer is one who is kind, generous and benevolent, must speak gently, sweetly and truthfully, he must have the spirit of selfless service, he must serve the poor and the sick, he must love all, he must take vegetarian food, must lead a well- regulated, disciplined life, he should avoid involvement in sensual pleasure, anger, pride, greed, he must lead a contented life, astrologers recognize that their knowledge is a gift from above and therefore may not be hoarded for massive profits, As he should not have attachment with the materialistic things in the world, he pursues the path of knowledge of vedas, so he must have faith in the religious teachings as mentioned in vedas,
Even if one is doctorate in a particular subject, yet he may need a solution from a spiritual guide (eventhough may he not hold a degree from the any university of the world,) having a spiritual or knowledge of vedas.
A guru is one who are supposed to have superior knowledge, they share thier knowldege without expecting anything in return,

1- After getting up early in the morning and before sleeping either pray the god or meditate for 15 to 20 minutes at least daily, (as said by guru / god , early to bed and early to rise, Makes the man healthy wealthy and wise ),

4- render service to parents \ parents in law, needy persons. and you should not break any relationship with anyone, if possible live in joint family.
5- give some food to birds \ animals.
6-Have pure and simple food, keep away from wine, meat and any kind of non vegetarian food,
7- Avoid speaking lie, (by speaking the truth, the mind is purified, and divine light dawns).
8- Be honest and generous, and treat everyone with good intention,
9- Health is wealth, the well-being of a man depends on perfect nutrition (diet) and good health, so do not tire yourself unnecessarily to gain more money in short period, but you can save money by controlling your unnecessary desires,
10- cleanliness in next to godliness, so one must not be limited to one's personal self it must be extend towards the neighborhood and environment, as cleanliness is must for good health.
11- Any thing in excess (more desires) is bad for your health and happiness,
12-Give justice to every one, do not take undue advantage of innocent or poor people by cheating or misguiding them, and never try free labor from anybody.
